Our arena was built well; but the dust and dirt in the building was extensive. The footing was extreamely old, not level, and very very dusty. A very common and dangerous problem at many facilities. Our top concerns were the health of both our horses and riders.
After extensive research we made the decision to hire "Brian McNeil of E=MC Equestrian Arenas & Surfaces International" to assist with the footing selection and provide the exact specifications for the instalation process. Brian has over 15 years of experience, and has completed over 300 instalations and designs world wide.
Brian was able to secure for us a footing blend from the amazing GMHA facility in VT. The new footing is a blend of a local washed, angular sand from ST. Pierre, Inc. The fiber-filiment retain elasticity and bounce, improves drainage and dust control (NO DUST) and provides great traction control over a long life span. This footing has been proven to protect equine ligaments and joints, thus reducing the risk of injury and prolonging the careers of performance horses.
This improvement puts Irish Luck Stables footing on par with the top competition sites in the country. Irish Luck Stables has a new Parma-Groomer to maintain our footing. This groomer is very impressive and prepares and conditions the footing for top performance.
